Register by August 22

You have until 19h00 on Saturday August 22 2015 to register to vote for the local and regional elections if you do not already have a valid voters card for these elections.
As of Saturday August 15, some 39 461 voters had registered countrywide during the supplementary period. The region with the highest number of voters registering was Ohangwena (6196) while Hardap is the lowest with just 877. According to the Electoral Commission of Namibia, among those who should register are those who have turned 18 since the Presidential and National Assembly elections last year and those who have lost their voters cards (also if the card has been damaged ). In addition if your personal details have changed, such as your surname due to marriage, or you have moved to a new constituency you should register again so that key information can be updated.
Make sure you are making the most of your democratic rights by registering to vote in the local and regional elections. This supplementary period is expected to be the last chance to register for these elections. Although no date has yet been announced, the elections are likely to take place at the end of November.
