What am I voting for in the upcoming election?
At the elections taking place on November 27 2015 registered voters will elect their local authority and regional council representatives.

Overview of the regional and local elections

On November 27th, 2015, Namibians will head to the polls to elect Regional Councillors and Local Authority Councillors of their choice.
Regional Councils and Local Authorities are important elements of Namibia’s governance system because they are tasked with bringing government closer to the people in terms of service delivery and development at the grassroots level.

Swakop by-election set for May 29

Following the death of Regional Councillor Germina Shitaleni, a by-election will be held at Swakopmund on May 29. Supplementary voter registration will take place this week from April 1-3 at seven fixed points and five temporary points around the coastal town. The points (see below) are open from 08h00 to 19h00. The supplementary registration is only for those people who do not currently have voters cards, such as those who have turned 18 recently. The nomination of candidates for the by-election will take place on April 16 2015 from 09h00 to 11h00 at the Swakopmund constituency office.
